Work In Progress

This is a work in progress. Not all villains have descriptions yet. And some images need modification.

Baby Pictures!

This section of the website is the main part and is organized like a photobook. It is organized by country and each section contains an image and includes a short vignette to explain who they were and what they did.

Many (but not all) of the countries that committed mass murder in the 20th century - not only against foreigners, but often against their own people - are listed here. In each country, I have highlighted some of the well-known figures we hold responsible for the atrocities, but I have also drawn representative figures of regular people - those who chose to act on the words of their leaders. Those who followed orders. Those who chose to believe the rhetoric and propaganda. Those who chose to keep their heads down rather than speak up. Those who turned against friends and neighbors and family. Those who were the hands of the 'monsters'. Those who slunk away to live regular lives after wars simmered down. I may add more as time allows and if there is interest.

My hope is that you see yourself in many of these - or rather, that you can see how you too could become like them if you aren't careful and take steps against it.

After WW2, a slogan was created which said, "never again", meaning, we as a planet should not allow the holocaust or genocide to happen again. And so, another hope I have for this project is to show you that because we failed to teach about these things after World War 2, the world did let these things happen again and again. Indeed, you are likely not aware that such things are happening in many places around the world this minute.

We failed, but we don't have to keep failing. It starts by learning about what has happened, and how it happened, so we can either prevent or not take part in, similar events that are sure to come.

Note that most of the links I provide point to Wikipedia. This is not because I agree with their framing of historical facts. Quite the opposite. The fact of the matter is that even though many of the articles are clearly written by Communists or apologists who want to white-wash the atrocities of these governments and their leaders, they can't white wash it all and any normal person should still be able to see how bad all of this is, even with the best possible spin. And so I encourage you to look on your own outside of Wikipedia for other more centrist (and honest) points of view.
