Korea

North Korea has existed in its current form since 1948. It is a Unitary one-party socialist "republic" under a totalitarian hereditary dictatorship. I find it hilariously ironic that so many non-democratic and non-republic governments have those words in their names. They aren't fooling anyone.
The Kim family has been responsible for decades and decades of atrocities. Wikipedia and others lessen the weight of what is done there by calling them "human rights violations". When I think "human rights", I think of freedom of speech and assembly - the kinds of things in the amendments to the US constitution.
But what is actually meant are things like:
- reeducation camps
- concentration camps
- human experimentation
- slavery
- executions
